Others site visits (depending on weather, availability, etc) during the week may include the Defenses of Washington, DC (such as Forts Washington, Ward, or Stevens). the National Firearms Museum in Fairfax, VA to see real Civil War weaponry up close, or smaller battlefields like Monocacy, Ball’s Bluff, and Ox Hill.

Finally, spend a day at The Heights living the life of a Civil War soldier learning how to march in formation, set up a campfire, and participate in cap gun and water gun battle re-enactments, and fire a water balloon launcher to better understand Civil War-era Artillery.
