James earned a B.A. in History from the University of Dallas and Masters (STL) in Institutional & Social Communications from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome, Italy. James previously worked in the Department of Admission at the Universidad de Navarra in Pamplona, Spain, in addition to a number of inner city educational initiatives in Mexico, Chicago, and Washington, D.C..

James is also the varsity squash coach.
